法律学专业论文-国际评论家对新法律的观点

1. The official media is supporting and praising the new law. International commentators and the public are showing scepticism towards the new law.

官方媒体比较支持新法律,然后国际评论家和公众都对新法律比较有怀疑的态度。

2. Firstly, the employers insist that employees work overtime, and even on holidays, employees are not given the chance to go home; Secondly, some people cannot afford to make frequent home visits; Thirdly, some people have no choice but to wait for a long vacation so as to go home; Lastly, for years, the media has been praising those who stay at their posts during holidays.

第一就是,老板要求员工加班的话,员工就没有机会回家了,也没有了节假日。然而媒体却只看到了那些有节假日的工作者。

3. The first stroy is about a poor farmer who struggled hard to see his son through college. However, after his son landed a job, the farmer could not get into contact with him; finally through the media help, the farmer found his son, but only to irritate his son. The second story is about Wu Meng in the Jin dynasty, who took off his shirt to attract the mosquitoes so that his father could sleep well at a summer night.

The two stories are both linked to filial piety. Parents are taking care of children with heart and soul, trying to give them best things they could offer; however, children are not so filial and even forget to pay back to their parents, which is definitely against the principle of filial piety. In the second one, Wu Meng is definitely a filial son, who would sacrifice himself to make his father sleep better.

I think the first story is more powerful, as it contrasts the different reactions of parents and children to each other. One is passionate and considerate, while the other is indifferent and cruel. Such a story is quite thought-provoking, making us to think about our behaviors towards our parents.

4. The words “scrimped and saved” depicts a father who earnestly saves money for his son and longs for a promising future of his son; the words “walked 10 miles into town…in use”, describes a father who is worried about his son and eager to get any news, but every time, ends with disappointment. The words “more and more anxious” tells how the father increasingly worries about his son; the words “heartbroken” and “alone” presents a father who gets hurt and disappointed.

5. First, the government restricts people’s comments and negative comments would be deleted soon; second, the government once had a strict confinement on people’s reading, forbidding people to read certain books; thirdly, the official media are praising the new law; however, it is not the case among the public, which implies that government only wants to get favorable comments.

6. Although it is made with good intention, I do not think it can be an effective one, neither will it solve the fundamental problem. Firstly, filial piety is a traditional concept that should be carried forward along with the times; instead of being regulated, people should be educated to pay back to their parents. Secondly, most of the people do want to go back home; however, owing to various reasons, they have no chance to go back. Therefore, more holidays, or the implementation of holidays in China are more necessary. Thirdly, the law cannot solve the problems fundamentally. Even when children are forced to go back, they still can be indifferent to their parents, which could only hurt their parents more deeply. Thus, a good education to recall the sense of filial piety among people can be more effective.
