Abstract

     This thesis is based on the basic knowledge and skills of translation and comprehension of the study of film television culture and aesthetical standards, which gives a brief introduction of translations of English film titles through the demonstrations of examples and discussion from different aspects. Moreover, the thesis also considers some internal and external issues, such as economic, politics, culture and religion, then try to explain some details under the instruction of Skopos Theories, which contribute a lot on the summary of the characteristics and skills of the translations of English film titles. There is no doubt that this paper will helps the translators translate much easier, especially on the translations of English film titles. With the instruction of this thesis, English film titles will absorb more local characteristics, become more vivid, neat, and suit both refined and popular tastes. English films will develop a lot in foreigner countries with attractive titles, and at the same time, serve as a bridge of culture integration and art communication. Another aim of this thesis is to show the process how modern translation theories evolve to all the people.
